Navigating the Digital World: Social Media Night for 5th–8th Grade Families

Northville families are invited to Social Media Night: A Conversation for 5th–8th Grade Parents & Students, a free event designed to help students and parents navigate the challenges of social media and digital life with confidence.

Presented by the Northville Educational Foundation (NEF) and the NPS Middle and Elementary School PTAs, this seminar will explore the social, emotional, and legal impacts of social media and device usage for students in this age group. Families will have the opportunity to learn together, ask questions, and gain valuable tools to promote responsible and mindful online behavior.

This event is an extension of Parent Camp: Parenting Reimagined, bringing back experts Kerry Biskelonis and Katey McPherson, who will provide insight into the ever-evolving digital landscape. They will be joined by Detective Norlock and a panel of Northville High School students, offering real-world perspectives on social media use and its impact on young people today.

While topics discussed will be developmentally appropriate, they may include sensitive content. Parents and students are encouraged to attend together to engage in open and meaningful discussions.
