Two NPS Students Win National PTA Reflections Awards

Northville Public Schools is proud to announce that two students were recognized at the national level for their Reflections pieces.

Each year, students in Pre-K through Grade 12 are invited to create and submit original works of art in the areas of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Based on State PTA rules and guidelines, these works of art may be submitted for state and national level awards and recognition opportunities.

We had eight students place at the state level in March. You can learn more about their pieces on the district's website.

National PTA received over 900 student entries from 44 state PTA congresses in all the available arts categories. Of those submissions, the National PTA awarded over 200 student artists on the national level.

Congratulations to our very own Ava Varughesekutty, 1st grader at Ridge Wood, who won an Award of Excellence by the National PTA for her literature piece called "Mava and the Magical Monkey"

And Hayul Park, 11th grader at NHS, won an Award of Merit in the Visual Arts category for her piece called "My Life's Languages". (Pictured below)
