March is reading month.....We are clued into reading

Read on to find out what other exciting activities our Student Events Team and Staff MIRM Team have in store for us this month.  Attached you will also find an optional activities calendar full on activities for each day of the month that you can do as a family.
Reading Goals
All month long your student will have reading goals to meet.
Teachers will be distributing Pizza Cutter and Granite City coupons to students who meet individual reading goals this month.
Students who have made a strong effort will also get a chance to 'shop' for something new to read at the end of the month.
CLUED into Books Challenge! - all month long!
Are you looking forward to Spring? How about starting some Spring cleaning/purging this weekend? Bobcats that make their March is Reading Month Goal (be on the lookout for more information about the goal coming home soon) will have a chance to pick a gently used book from our school-wide book swap.
Starting on Monday, March 4th Ms. LaManna will have boxes outside her classroom for students to donate gently used children’s books. Bobcats can simply place old books they aren’t using at home in these boxes. We will collect gently used books from March 4th-March 22nd.
During the week of March 25th-29th, the students that make their reading goal will receive a ticket to pick a book out from the swap. We are asking for all types of books (fiction, nonfiction, chapter, picture) that are gently used that other kids would enjoy reading! Please let Mrs. Parnin know if you have any questions!
The PTA is once again sponsoring a visit from a Michigan author.  This year's author is Bryan Chick.  He is the author of the Secret Zoo Series.  He will be here Friday, March 22nd.Signed books can be ordered after the assembly day.
